pulling weeds
centipede scatter as the destroyer returns again and again
whole eco systems gone in seconds
indiscriminate young and old flee for their lives
there is no fighting the destroyer it doesn't hear
nor cares for the screams, cries of the little ones
neither does it care for the innocent lives taken
the lives left maimed without shelter to take cover
spiders squeeze between slated fence
snails unaware wake being taken, dumped
hoppy creatures bounce around attempting to scare
but the destroyer continues til the land is bare
continues til the land is broken
lives are broken
whole eco systems gone in seconds
indiscriminate young and old flee for their lives
there is no fighting the destroyer it doesn't hear
nor cares for the screams, cries of the little ones
neither does it care for the innocent lives taken
the lives left maimed without shelter to take cover
spiders squeeze between slated fence
snails unaware wake being taken, dumped
hoppy creatures bounce around attempting to scare
but the destroyer continues til the land is bare
continues til the land is broken
lives are broken

onward
we journeyed hard and fast bravado our fuel
upon a river deep we did happen
jumping in to test the waters
heart raced at the coolness
thumped at the depth
climbed vertical bank to confer
all in agreeance
there was no other way
but onward

Yatton Park
This is the park where I spent many a day as a youngun.
The grounds were as gorgeous back then as they are now.
We would climb trees swim in the ponds and run wild.
When we were a little older and without parent supervision.
We scaled the banks through bush and swam in the 'river or estuary'
This place holds a lot of fun for me.
My son likes it now for hunting bugs,
climbing trees and running wild.
Perfick!
